Who is I.E.C.S?

I.E.C.S (Installations et Exploitations de Carrières) et Sablières) a born at 1985. Today, is udo team of a twenty or so people specialized in the manufacture of quarrying equipment, such as conveyors and screening machines. The company works with small and medium-sized companies as well as with major public works groups.

What was their challenge?

IECS was faced with a major challenge major challenge : the request for a manufacturer’s file by one of its customers, a major player in the rail freight sector. In reply, they chose to invest in welding quality management software.. This choice necessitated the dematerialization of their welding traceability, previously handwritten, as well as the formalization of a quality process. The conversion of qualifications (QMOS and QS), Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), material and filler metal certificates from paper to digital format was essential.

How did they start using Welding Cloud?

The use of Welding Cloud software began with the import of their data: more than 2,500 welds and bubble drawings, all their QMOS, DMOS and APAVE validations… The software has enabled us to centralize all the data.

Remote collaborative working was greatly facilitated, enabling two people to work simultaneously on the project. The QSE Manager also emphasized the solution’s accessibility: “
The software is user-friendly and easy to use

The benefits

The software is very well designed, enabling us to produce complete documents with welding logs, qualifications and operating procedures. It's got everything!

Le responsable QSE

The Welding Cloud solution enabled IECS to quickly generate the documents requested by its customer. Finding themselves in an emergency situation where the production of welding quality documents was paramount, they were able to import their data and provide documents such as the welding book and the end-of-manufacture file in no time at all. In just three afternoons of training, the teams were able to start using the software.

Subsequently, the IECS teams were able to count on the support of SIRFULL Customer Service when they had questions about using the solution: “Customer Service is very responsive.
Customer service is very responsive, and I quickly got answers to my questions.
“says the QSE manager.

The teams also greatly appreciated the monitoring of their welders’ qualifications.

“The Welder Qualification Tracking part presents a real advantage because there are alerts that remind us when these are coming to the end of their validity. This allows us to think about revalidating our welders’ qualifications.”

The story of IECS and its successful adoption of Welding Cloud is an example of digital transformation at the service of welding quality. A smooth transition, tangible benefits and responsive support were the key elements of this successful collaboration. We would like to thank the entire team for agreeing to testify about adoption of the tool.
